Real Madrid hitman Gareth Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett has taken over Jorge Mendes and Mino Raiola as the most powerful agent in the world after it was revealed that he made over €100m in commissions.
Every year, Forbes releases their list of the most powerful and richest agents in the world of sport and it has seen Barnett move to first with Mendes dropping to the third spot.
One of the main reasons which sees Barnett taking top spot is that FIFA allow up to 10% commission to agents as compared to NFL (3%), NHL (4%), NBA (4%) and MLB (5%).
The British agent has sealed deals worth €1.1b and has received over €114.8m in commissions from his deals. Additionally, he also has Saúl Ñíguez (Atlético de Madrid), Luke Shaw (Manchester United), Timothy Fosu-Mensah (Manchester United), Maxi Gomez (Valencia) and Joe Hart (Burnley) on his list of clients.
