Coach of the Argentinean national football team's FIFA World Cup winning squad in 1978, Cesar Luis Menotti has revealed that he is not a fan of comparing FC Barcelona legend Lionel Messi and Juventus hitman Cristiano Ronaldo as he gave his opinion and explained that he loves both players.

While he did choose his fellow Argentine Messi, Menotti had special praise for Portuguese legend Ronaldo.

As reported by Marca, while speaking in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Menotti said, "Messi always wins for me, but Cristiano Ronaldo is incredible."

Revealing that he does not like these kind of comparisons, Menotti said, "I don't like these kinds of comparisons, though. They're not good for football."

Talking about what he thinks about fans of Messi and Ronaldo, Menotti claimed, "We can enjoy them both and that's it. They're different, unique. Ronaldo is huge in the penalty area, while Messi is more complete in the other parts of the pitch."

Additionally, Menotti, who now works as the director of national teams of the Argentine Football Association (AFA) underlined his conviction that football must be harmonious and spectacular play.

"I'm interested in the fact that, in order to achieve the objective, a team is always the protagonist of the show, I like those who are committed to art. Football is art." He stated.
