FC Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has revealed that his legendary teammate Lionel Messi helps each and every player become better and perform better on a day-to-day basis.

The German goalkeeper reached 200 games for Barcelona in Sunday's 4-0 win at home to Sevilla and came up with another clean sheet.

As reported by Standard Sport, Ter Stegen spoke to the media afterwards and sang praises of Messi as he said, "Messi is unique. What can I say that hasn't already been said?"

He continued, "He (Messi) always tries to help every one of us to improve. He is a very large part of this club and we enjoy him a lot."

The two teammates could have fielded against each other when Argentina faced Germany in the international break however, Messi is suspended for the Albiceleste after his controversial comments after being knocked out from the Copa America this year.

Speaking about that game, Ter Stegen stated, "It's a fantastic match and we're all looking forward to it. For Messi and for me, it would have been special to play against each other once, but sometimes it's good to avoid it as well."

Meanwhile, it has been reported that in the absence of Messi, Germany are going to take the clash lightly and will hand out several debuts to his younger players.
