Arsenal star Dani Ceballos, who is on loan from Real Madrid, has revealed that he wanted to leave the Los Merengues in order to manage more playing time. The Spaniard was signed from Real Betis in 2017 but he hasn’t been able to break into the starting XI of the Blancos.

As a result, the Spaniard left the club this summer on loan to Arsenal, where he has been enjoying his fair share of football under Unai Emery. The midfielder has taken part in 10 games for the Gunners and has stated that he wanted to leave the Galacticos because he wanted to play more and enjoy the game after not playing much for the last two years.

"It was clear I wanted to leave," Ceballos said, as per Marca.

"I've been successful in leaving, now I'm where I want to be and I'm very happy. My idea was to leave, play and enjoy football. In the previous two years I hadn't done that.

The midfielder has been called up for Spain in this international break and could play alongside Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets, a player who he admires as he thinks that the midfield is a point of reference for aspiring footballers.

"I love playing with Busquets," he said.

"He measures the time and speed of the game very well. He's a reference for young people."
