3 Players Who Could Redeem Themselves in the 2019/20 Season

A new season is like a new cycle which allows new beginnings for players who didn’t have the best of times in the season that just went by. During the previous campaign, there were quite a few players who didn’t have a lot of fun on the pitch.

As a result, they were on the verge of being sold by their respective clubs. However, for some reason or the other, it didn’t end up happening and they stayed where they are.

So, without further ado, let us have a look at the players who could redeem themselves this season:

3. Gareth Bale

It is not as though Gareth Bale has had a terrible time at Real Madrid since moving to the Santiago Bernabeu from Tottenham Hotspur. However, last season was by far his worst and Zinedine Zidane’s arrival all but guaranteed his departure.

However, he is still at the club and has started the season well. He has scored two goals along with an assist in three league games so far this season and he could end up being the saviour for Real. Despite going into the season having seen a move to China fall through, he has been focused on his play and helped his team.

2. James Rodriguez

Another player that Zinedine Zidane didn’t count on, James Rodriguez is also having a great season so far, at Madrid. He wasn’t even supposed to be at the club right now as he was loaned to Bayern Munich in 2017 with an option to buy but the Bavarians did not exercise the option and he too was happy to not return.

And so here he is, adding some sort of attacking verve to Real’s midfield as Los Blancos have only played well when he was on the pitch. This could yet turn out to be his best season as a Madrid player.

1. Neymar

After spending the entire summer in a stand-off with Paris Saint-Germain and openly admitting his desire to leave the French giants, Neymar is still in Paris, much to the bemusement of the fans and everyone else in the football world, despite working very hard to move to Barcelona.

Fans are clearly not fond of him anymore as they have been vocal about not wanting him at the club. The Brazilian, however, scored a spectacular winner against RC Strasbourg and should he keep scoring goals like that, fans will almost certainly forget his misdemeanours of the summer.

These three players could go on to become the best players for their club and redeem themselves after an underwhelming campaign last season
