Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he is targeting a record haul of eight Ballon d'Or awards, which would establish himself as the best player in the history of the sport, ahead of arch-rival, Lionel Messi.
The duo are currently tied on five Ballon d'Or honours each, the most by any players in football history as they battle each other to be called the "Best Player" ever and Ronaldo in an interview revealed that he believes that he deserves the award.

"The most golden balls in the history of football. I will love it and I think I deserve it. Messi is a fantastic guy and a fantastic player, but I think after I have six, or seven, or eight then I’ll be more above him," he said in an interview as quoted by the Dailymail.
The 34-year-old won his first such award in 2008 during his time at Manchester United, with the other four coming while representing Real Madrid. Despite scoring 28 goals in his debut season for Juventus, the Portugese striker is yet to hit top form for the Italians and will be looking to go one better this season by leading them to their first UEFA Champions League title since 1996.
