Champions League: 3 Things to Look Forward to as Napoli Host Liverpool

Liverpool travel to the San Paolo stadium in Italy to face Napoli in their first Champions League game of the season. The defending champions will be looking to transfer their Premier League form to Europe and start their title defence on a winning note.

Here are three things to look forward to as Napoli host Liverpool.

3. Rerun

Napoli and Liverpool have once again been drawn in the same group in the Champions League and the visitors will be vary of taking things easy in this game. In the last season, Napoli almost knocked Liverpool down to the Europa League and will be looking to put a dent on their title defence early in the competition.

2. Napoli's first home game

Having played both fixtures in the Serie A away from home due to renovation work at the San Paolo stadium, Napoli will be looking to make a positive start to their Champions League campaign. They won the corresponding fixture 1-0 in the previous campaign, and will be looking to kick off their home games in successful fashion, despite the ongoing problems with the renovation that was done.

1. Away day blues

Although Liverpool are currently on a winning sequence in the Premier League that does not seem to be stopping any time soon, they will be wary of playing away from home in the Champions League. Liverpool had lost all their away games in the group stages last season, and almost got knocked out, and so will be looking to fix that this time round.
