A group of four thieves are reported to have broken into and burgled French defender Samuel Umtiti's residence in the Esplugues de Llobregat area of Barcelona on Saturday night.
Local police were called to the Barcelona defender's residence after receiving reports of break-in and the matter is now being handled by Catalan police, los Mossos d'Esquadra.
AS report that according to La Vanguardia, witnesses observed four masked individuals enter the premises taking advantage that the player was in attendance at Camp Nou where his Barcelona side were involved in La Liga action against Valencia.
This is not the first time a Barcelona player's house has been burgled as Luis Suarez and on-loan Philippe Coutinho too have faced burglary issues in the city during their time at the Camp Nou.
With game times already known, Police report that thieves know when to strike because there has been a series of robberies at Barcelona players' residences, each time when the players were away during games. It happened to Arthur, with his brother threatened, and to Jordi Alba, who moved to a new house.
Gerard Pique and Kevin-Prince Boateng too have faced burglary to their houses during their time at Barcelona.
However, this issue has been prevalent in almost every major football league in the world with Premier League players too being victim of burglaries.
