Fiorentina owner, Rocco Commisso has hailed new signing, Franck Ribery for his performance during their 0-0 draw with Juventus in the Serie A on Saturday, claiming that, "the Frenchman at 36, played better than Cristiano Ronaldo!

Ribery moved to Italy earlier in the summer after spending 12-years at Bayern Munich and despite his obvious pedigree and talent, there were concerns whether he would be able to adapt at his age.

The winger who was making his first start for the club was subject of intense praise from the owner, who was overjoyed to see him join them ahead of other clubs.

“I am very happy, as the lads gave their heart and it was a fun afternoon. Did you see Ribery at the age of 36? He played better than Cristiano Ronaldo! And our two Italians, Gaetano Castrovilli and Federico Chiesa, were phenomenal," he said as per Goal.

“I see this match as like the history of my company, Mediacom. Juventus had €300 million worth of players between transfer fees and salaries, while ours was about €50m, but we still got a point.”

Widely considered as one the best wingers of his era, Ribery has won everything there is to win in club football, winning a total of 25 trophies so far in his career.
