Coutinho moved to Bayern on a season-long loan after his 18 months at Barcelona did not go as planned. The Brazil international even lost his place in the first team for a significant period of the season, and was the subject of criticism from fans as well.
With Coutinho yet to open his goalscoring account after two games in the Bundesliga, Pavard is confident that he can make the difference for the team as soon as he finds his form.
According to Goal, Pavard told Sky Sport: "A little wizard! He is very discreet and really personable. First of all, a really fine guy. And of course a very good footballer. It's very hard to get him off the ball. He's not 100 per cent yet - he probably needs some more games because he joined the team very late.
"But I'm sure, in a few weeks, we will see the world-class footballer Coutinho. Of course [he can make the difference]. I now know him from a few training sessions and I have no doubt about that. He has incredible quality and will show it to everyone."
It remains to be seen if that will indeed be the case, considering that he will need this season to go well to rejuvenate his career and seal a permanent move to the Bavarian club.
