Atletico Madrid striker, Diego Costa has defended former team-mate, Antoine Griezmann over his summer transfer to Barcelona, revealing that the Frenchman does not deserve to be criticised for the move as it was his dream to play alongside, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
Griezmann completed a long awaited move to the Nou Camp in the summer after the Catalan giants triggered his €120million release clause, though it was not without controversy as Atletico claimed that they were owed a further €80m for his transfer.
The 28-year-old came in for criticism as his move came just a year after he signed a new contract with Atletico and had seemingly pledged his future to the Madrid based club in a video which seemed to mock his current club.

"[Griezmann's] dream was to play with [Lionel] Messi and [Luis] Suarez. As a footballer you always want to test yourself and it is normal that he would want to play there, to see if he can be an important player as he was at Atleti. We cannot say anything bad," Costa said to Que Partidazo.
"If all that with the video hadn't happened, it would have been a quiet exit," he added.
The Frenchman has started his career with Barcelona in the best possible way, scoring two goals in three games so far.
