The Indian national football team will travel to Doha to take on 2022 World Cup hosts Qatar in their second qualifier clash due to kick off at 10pm IST on Star Sports 3 and Hotstar.
After leading for most of the game against Oman, the Blue Tigers conceded two late goals to lose their opening encounter of the qualifiers. However, their first half performance in that game will give hope for a better performance against the strongest team in their group, Qatar.
Here are three things to look out for from this clash.......
3. Difficult but not impossible
Let's be honest, it is an uphill task for India when they take the field against AFC Asian Cup champions Qatar.
The defeat against Oman would definitely have triggered Igor Stimac and his team and they might have realised that if it wasn't for a couple of momentary lapses in concentration, the Blue Tigers would have got something out of that match.
The feeling of an unjust loss could help trigger this Indian team to go out and express themselves to the best of their capabilities and in a game of 90 minutes, no one can be sure what can happen!
2. Qatar will be cautious of India's counter-attacks
Qatari national team's coach Felix Sanchez has already iterated that his team will be cautious of India's style of play after watching their first game against Oman.
As reported by Goal, Sanchez said, “Obviously we watched their games from the recent past and they have a new staff which has made some changes. We respect their team. They gave a good performance in the last game which makes it a very tough game tomorrow. We will try to play a good game tomorrow and we are confident about it.”
1. Sunil Chhetri doubtful
India's talisman striker Sunil Chhetri might not feature in the game against Qatar on Tuesday. As reported by Goal, Chhetri, who scored against Oman, did not even attend the practice sessions in Doha and there remains significant doubt over his participation against the World Cup hosts.
His absence will definitely leave a huge void in the Indian team's striking section but fans will hope that Manvir Singh and Balwant Singh rise to the occasion on the night.
