5 Pairs of Team-mates Who Joined the Same Club in the Same Transfer Window

The transfer window opens up the possibility for a player to change clubs. While it almost often brings about excitement, it is also quite heartbreaking leave your team-mates behind for new ones.

However, sometimes, players are lucky enough to see some of their ‘colleagues’ leave with them to the same club. Eden Hazard joined Thibaut Courtois at Real Madrid after a year and the same happened with Luka Modric and Gareth Bale.

But there are luckier people who join the same club in the same window and here are 5 pairs who joined the same club in the same window.

5. Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez (Inter Milan)

We start with the latest incident of this happening as Romelu Lukaku joined Inter Milan after months of speculation. He was quickly joined by Alexis Sanchez as the pair really wanted to get out of the Old Trafford.

Both of them are now in Italy and would hope to revive their career at the Giuseppe Meazza.

4. Ricardo Carvalho and Paulo Ferreira (Chelsea)

The revolution at Chelsea began when they managed to bring in Jose Mourinho after a Champions League-winning campaign with Porto. The Portuguese didn’t come alone though as he brought with them the players who helped him with the unprecedented aforementioned success.

Ricardo Carvalho and Paulo Ferreira were also roped in from Porto and both of them went on to serve Chelsea for a long time, establishing themselves as proper icons at the club.

3. Marc Overmars and Emmanuel Petit (Barcelona)

Overmars and Petit were a part of the revolution at Arsenal  but they were also among the first players to move to Barcelona  from London – beginning a cycle to which there seems to be no end.

Both of them left the north Londoners in 2000 and while Overmars went on to stay at the Camp Nou for four years, Petit just played for the sole season before moving to Chelsea.

2. Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez (West Ham United)

The Argentines came to the Premier League in 2006 from Brazilian club Corinthians and opened the floodgates for South Americans in England. Both of them were under a bit of controversy due to third parties owning rights to them.

Ultimately, none of the two stayed at West Ham for the long time as the forward left for Manchester United the following summer while Liverpool  snapped up Mascherano within 6 months of his move to the Hammers itself.

1. Niklas Sule and Sebastian Rudy (Bayern Munich)

There can’t be a list like this without Bayern Munich in it. The Bavarians have, for years, signed the best players from other Bundesliga clubs, so it would be shocking to not sign two or more players from the same team in the same window.

Indeed, one wouldn’t have to go that far to find something that like that since it was only in 2017 that they signed both Niklas Sule and Sebastian Rudy from Hoffenheim. A few months later in January, Sandro Wagner, too, joined the Bavarians from Hoffenheim.

Out of the three players, however, only Niklas Sule still remains at the club.
