Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti has expressed his happiness with the way the club has gone about their summer transfer window, especially after they secured the signature of Mexican superstar Hirving Lozano.

Lozano moved to Napoli from PSV Eindhoven for 40 million euros just a day before the Italian Serie A season was set to start, with Napoli possibly bringing an end to their interest in Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi.

Ancelotti was happy with the transfer business that the club have conducted and said they had a strong squad going into the new season while also praising the qualities possessed by Lozano.

"We have become more competitive," Ancelotti said, according to Goal"With Lozano and the other new arrivals, the level of quality in the squad has increased and we're stronger overall than last year. The club has had a very good transfer window and spent big, which I'm pleased about."

He concluded, "Lozano brings extra technical quality to the squad. He's full of desire and is very excited and motivated to be at Napoli. Those are the characteristics that we like, besides his technical ability. Hirving can play anywhere across the frontline. On the left, right or behind the striker. Maybe he can also play as a striker himself. He's a complete footballer with fantastic quality."

With Inter Milan and Juventus also considerably strengthening their squads, Napoli will need to do a lot better than last season if they have to maintain their spot in the top two, let alone win the Serie A title in this campaign ahead of the Old Lady.
