The 2019/20 Premier League season is now well underway and the action over the weekend and brought us goals, thrills and some unexpected results. Here, we take a look at five interesting numbers from the weekend action.
5. Kevin De Bruyne is back with a bang
Manchester City midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne has provided three assists so far this season, which is already one more than he registered in the entirety of the 2018/19 campaign. The Belgian though suffered an injury hit campaign last year, making only 19 appearances.
4. Lampard struggling to get off the mark
Chelsea's new manager, Frank Lampard is the first Blues manager to fail to win the first three matches he has been incharge of, since the 2012/13 campaign when Rafael Benitez was at the helm at Stamford Bridge.
3. Liverpool on a roll
Liverpool have now won 11 consecutive games in the Premier League, equaling their best ever winning streak in the competition. They have equaled the record set under Brendan Rodgers set between February and April 2014 and Jurgen Klopp's side can break the record if they win their next league encounter.
2. Arsenal on a high
Arsenal have now won their first two opening games of the Premier League for the first time since 2009/10. The Gunners will look to do one better when they are in action next as manager Unai Emery looks to lead them to the Champions League next season.
1. Aguero in August company
Manchester City striker, Sergio Aguero has scored 97 goals at the Etihad Stadium and is third on the list of players to score the most goals at a single venue in the Premier League. The Argentinian is behind, Thierry Henry (114 at Highbury) and Wayne Rooney (101 at Old Trafford).
