Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has suggested that he is not in favour of the club signing Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi, and said that such a transfer would fall under the realms of fantasy football.

Icardi has been out of favour at Inter over a contract dispute, although he did make a few appearances towards the end of last season. The Italian side have already brought in Romelu Lukaku and are happy to let the Argentine leave before the transfer window closes.

However, Chiellini doesn't think the Serie A champions should spend money on bringing Icardi to the club, and is happy with the forwards they already have at the club.

“With all due respect to Icardi, the idea of him at Juve is fantasy football,” Chiellini said, according to Goal

“We have some great forwards and we’re only thinking about our group. We want to stick together and help each other during a long season. Luckily it starts soon.”

Chiellini was also confident that Paulo Dybala will be able to get his head down and keep working hard amid all the transfer talk throughout the summer.

“Paulo’s calm, he’s doing well and he doesn’t need my advice. He’s a big boy. Certain things are part of the game, we’re professionals and we’re aware of the situation.”

Dybala's move to Manchester United fell apart, with the Argentine international reportedly not too keen on joining the English club. He then saw another move break down, this time to Tottenham Hotspur.
