New Juventus signing, Danilo has opened up on his move to Italy, revealing that he "jokingly" asked club superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo for the number 7 shirt on his arrival, only to be told it was already taken.

The Brazilian was recently signed by Juventus in a deal that saw right-back Joao Cancelo move the other way, with his arrival seeing him link up once again with Ronaldo. He had won two UEFA Champions League titles during their time together at Real Madrid.

“I spoke to him before coming here. I said to him that I wanted to take the number seven jersey, but it was already taken. He spoke very highly of Juventus and to play with him will be an extra motivation. I found a very motivated and happy Ronaldo. He spoke about the club like a family and this was reassuring to me. It was great to hear such things," Danilo said to Squawka.

The 28-year-old was a consistent performer at City, spending two years at the Etihad during which he made 60 appearances, helping them win two Premier League titles and one FA Cup.

The right-back will be expected to be at his best considering that Juventus are looking to end their drought in Europe, with the club last winning the Champions League title way back in 1996.
