Manchester United flop Alexis Sanchez is reported to have clashed with youngster Mason Greenwood in a heated training ground bust-up as the duo were seen exchanging heated words for an incident at Carrington during pre-season.

Sanchez is desperately trying to attain full fitness in order to make a return back to United's first team after returning from the Copa America with a hamstring injury that he picked up in the tournament's third place match.

In one of his first training sessions back at the club following his injury, Sanchez was fouled by the youngster, leaving the 30-year-old fuming, according to The Sun.

The report went on to state that "angry words were exchanged between the pair as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men prepared for the new campaign."

Here's how social media reacted to this news:

Sanchez was left out of the squad against Chelsea but he is now back in training and expected to be handed another chance by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season in order to salvage his career at Manchester United.

Meanwhile, 17-year-old Greenwood, who came off the bench in Manchester United's thumping 4-0 win over Frank Lampard's Chelsea is expected to get a lot of playing this season as Solskjaer has always reiterated the fact that he will never shy away from handing out chances to youngsters because that has what been done at Old Trafford across Manchester United's history.

And if there is any truth to reports that Sanchez has fallen out with United's most exciting academy prospect then that could see an end to his time at the club, especially as they appear to be building a youth-centred philosophy under Solskjaer.
