Ajax star, Donny van de Beek has opened up on the speculation surrounding his future, claiming that he could stay in Netherlands despite interest from "fantastic" Real Madrid.
The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Spain and recently confirmed that Madrid had contacted Ajax over a potential move considering that a capture of their prime target in Paul Pogba is looking increasingly unlikely.
Van de Beek who excelled for Ajax during their domestic double win and semi-final run to the Champions League has revealed that nothing is set in stone as of now.
"They're a fantastic club, but Ajax are too. I've nothing to complain about in that regard. There's a very good chance I'll continue playing here, but nothing is certain yet," Van de Beek said to Ziggo Sport as quoted by Goal.
Despite their brilliant run both domestically and in Europe last season, Ajax lost key players in Frenkie de Jong to Barcelona and Matthijs de Ligt to Juventus and will be loathe to lose another star player as they look to continue their success in the 2019/20 campaign.
Van de Beek has already found himself in action as the club have been involved in Champions League qualification for the next season.
