5 Clubs That Could End Up Spending More Than €250 Million in the Summer Transfer Window

The summer transfer window is in full swing, and there are some clubs that have taken it to heart with a splurge in the market. There have been a number of big name signings that have moved clubs and some top teams are also looking likely to hit the 250 million euros mark by the time the window closes.

Here are five clubs who have (and could) spend more than €250 million this summer.

5. Juventus

In a rare splurge, Juventus have gone all out in the current transfer window, bringing in some big names in the process. Matthijs De Ligt was their most expensive signing at €85.5million. However, if manager Maurizio Sarri's words are anything to go by, they are not done yet and will be looking to add some more.

With the likes of Mauro Icardi and Paul Pogba linked with a move to the club, they could easily pass the €250m mark.

4. Manchester United

Manchester United have been relatively quiet in the transfer window even though their squad requires an injection of quality. The Red Devils have made two signings so far, but with the transfer window fast approaching its deadline day, they are ready to swoop in for some high profile players.

Apart from the already purchased Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, United are also expected to bring in Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes and Nicolas Pepe.

3. Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid went all out in their purchase of Joao Felix for €126million and that in itself puts them in a bracket that they don't usually show up in.

With the other smaller signings they have made, including Marcos Llorente, Kieran Trippier and Felipe, they are inching closer to the €250m mark. Considering the transfer window is not yet over, they could very well add some more players.

2. Barcelona

With just two players, Barcelona have already reached the €200million mark in the transfer window, thanks to the deals made for Antoine Griezmann and Frenkie de Jong. They are still reportedly after Neymar, and with Paris Saint-Germain holding out for a €300m fee, the La Liga champions could well blow everyone out of the water if they do go ahead with it.

1. Real Madrid

Real Madrid have comfortably crossed the €250million mark already, not wasting any time and signing five high profile players almost as soon as the transfer window opened. Eden Hazard has been their biggest spend but the likes of Luka Jovic, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy and Rodrygo have taken the Spanish club past a net spend of €300m in the current transfer window.
