Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett has called manager Zinadine Zidane a disgrace following the latter's comments that he hoped the player leaves the club as soon as possible.

At a press conference, Zidane responded to a question surrounding Bale by saying that he hopes the player leaves soon, and that the club was working to make that happen in the next 24 to 48 hours.

Barnett was incensed with the comments aimed at his client and insisted that Bale will leave Madrid on his terms and not because Zidane pushed him out, while reiterating that the Welsh international was still one of the best players in the world.

"Zidane is a disgrace to speak like that about someone who has done so much for Real," Barnett told ESPN FC

"If and when Gareth goes it will be because it is in the best interest of Gareth and nothing to do with Zidane pushing. Gareth is still one of the best players in the world, one of the top five players in terms of market value, and his future lies at a big club."

It is very unlikely that Zidane will change his mind about Bale but there are very few other clubs that have the financial resources to take on the salary of the player. Some reports indicate a move to China is on the cards but others claim he might move to Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG are battling their own player issues, with Neymar looking for a move away as well. A swap deal between the two clubs has been mooted, but it remains to be seen how things pan out.
