Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has reportedly requested Zinedine Zidane to drop his interest in Manchester United hitman Paul Pogba, according to The Independent.

Additionally, Perez has asked the French legend to bring back Gareth Bale into the first team fray as Real Madrid are struggling to sell him in this summer's transfer window.

Meanwhile, Pogba is 'desperate to leave Old Trafford' according to agent Mino Raiola, and Zidane has shown keen interest in the midfielder. It is believed the Madrid board are not so fond of the 26-year-old, however, but have reluctantly offered the manager their support.

The report from Independent also goes on to claim that United would not consider a deal for Pogba 'for less than £150m', with Madrid unable to meet the asking price unless they can raise funds.

Furthermore, Bale has been unwilling to force a move away from the Bernabeu and will not lower his wage demands.

Real Madrid are totally facing a major issue in the transfer market. On one hand, they have spent crazy money to sign some of the most talented footballers in the world. However, their strategy to recoup that money by selling their own players is something that would need quite a lot of effort from Florentino Perez.
