Lyon manager Sylvinho has confirmed that attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir will leave the club and is already negotiating his transfer, with the French international strongly linked with a move to La Liga side Real Betis.

Fekir has been looking for a transfer away for some time now, with the player coming close to joining Liverpool only for it to fall through at the very end.

Although it might not have been the destination he wanted, Betis seem poised to get the player as they themselves prepare to lose Giovani Lo Celso.

Manager Sylvinho has insisted that they have no control over the timeline regarding when Fekir will finally depart, but is hoping that it happens as quickly as possible for the club’s sake.

"We don't control the situation," Sylvinho told a news conference, according to Goal

"He is negotiating his transfer, we don't know when it will be resolved but, for him and for the club, it would be best that it happens as quickly as possible. Of course we will miss him if he leaves. Nabil is a wonderful player, his technical level is exemplary, and it's beautiful to watch him play."

The French international scored 12 goals in all competitions last season and will be keen to show his prowess in La Liga. Fekir has a point to prove after his deal with Liverpool fell through, and will be hoping to attract bigger clubs after a season or two.
