Jose Mourinho has managed a number of top clubs and has been successful with almost all of them. However, the Portuguese also has a propensity to burn bridges wherever he goes, living little room for him to go back to a top club.
Inter Milan remain the only club where he’s untainted but the Italians just hired Antonio Conte as manager, leaving no room for Mourinho.
Despite that, however, Mourinho has been linked with a few clubs who might meet his ambitions. Here are three realistic clubs that he could possibly manage in the near future:
3. Borussia Dortmund
Mourinho recently revealed that he was learning the German language, and although he did not allude to the possibility of joining a Bundesliga club, it is fair to say that learning it for the sake of knowledge, as he claimed, is bunkum.
As such Borussia Dortmund is one of the team that he can become manager, as they are the only club realistically competing with Bayern Munich and took the league title race to the last day of the season. He would have committed fans, players and decent resources to bring them back the trophies again.
2. Bayern Munich
Although the Bayern Munich hierarchy have always publicly backed manager Niko Kovac, last season was definitely not one of their best despite winning the domestic double as they were stuttering for all of the first half of the season.
Mourinho is one of the top managers available who will be able to reinvent the way the team plays, make them more efficient and quite possibly bring them back the Champions League title.
1. Paris Saint-Germain
On the outset, Paris Saint-Germain and Mourinho seem a match made in heaven. PSG are ambitious and want to dominate Europe, while Mourinho will get all the resources he needs to succeed at the club.
For now, the French club are sticking with Thomas Tuchel but he has not helped them improve in any way in Europe and the tame end to the season, where they labored to be confirmed as league winners and lost the cup, will not sit well with the hierarchy. Bringing in Mourinho could accelerate their project and maybe even help keep Neymar around for a season or two.
