There is absolutely no doubt that Neymar is in Barcelona's transfer plans this summer and the possibility of signing him is growing by the day as it has been reported that the Catalan club's hierarchy are growing confident in their talks with Paris Saint-Germain.
There is no doubt that this deal is complicated due to the number of people involved and the cost involved, but Paris Saint-Germain, and coach Thomas Tuchel, are said to have accepted that Neymar wants to leave.
Marca report that the first major issue that Barcelona will face in their pursuit of Neymar is the price. The Blaugrana have already spent €225m on Frenkie de Jong (€75m), Neto (€26m), the much hyped transfer of Antoine Griezmann (€120m) and Marc Cucurella (€4m).
It totally means Barcelona have an unrealistic chance of signing Neymar this summer unless they end up selling a huge chunk of players in one go.
Moreover, this year, FIFA has informed clubs that the difference between spending and sales on transfers cannot exceed €100m, which would mean that Barcelona would have to bring in €300m in transfers between now and June 30, 2020.
Such a huge shake-up will be a herculean task for Barcelona, however it is not impossible considering the cost at which they can let go of players like Philippe Coutinho, Malcom, Samuel Umtiti and Ousmane Dembele.
