Former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has admitted that he had his heart set on Juventus move from the moment he heard of their interest in him.

Ramsey, 28, was heavily linked with Bayern Munich and Manchester United, but has stated there was only ever one place he wanted to go.

As reported by the Mirror, on being questioned about the reason for rejecting the German and English clubs respectively, Ramsey said, “As soon as I knew Juve were in for me, there was no question about where I was going to go. You can't turn down that opportunity."

Revealing that there were many other clubs interested in him, Ramsey stated, "I'm so excited to be here and hopefully I can be a part of a new history. There were other clubs, but this is the right club for me.”

The Welsh midfielder, who left Arsenal after a 11 year stay, also expressed his thoughts on playing for Maurizio Sarri. He said, "I know from this coach, from his time last year in England. He definitely likes to play football and has his own philosophy and I’m sure all the players here will adapt nicely to that."

Concluding his thoughts on Sarri, Ramsey said, "I think that from what I saw last season he had a very good season for Chelsea, he got to two finals and won one of them. He got in the top four and that is not easy to do so it was definitely success for him there but hopefully he can bring his philosophy and style to this team.”

Ramsey is all set to make his debut for Juventus when they take on last season's UEFA Champions League finalists Tottenham Hotspur in their International Champions Cup game on Sunday at 5pm Indian Standard Time.
