FC Barcelona's debt has reached an insane £800m after their incredible signing of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.
The Spanish champions signed the former Atletico superstar on Friday after activating his £108m release clause. But this transfer did have a domino effect on Barcelona's ever-mounting debt.
The Catalonian giants are now looking at implementing some sales in order to offset some debts as Malcom has been linked with a move to Arsenal and winger Ousmane Dembele could be shown the door following the arrival of Griezmann.
Philippe Coutinho's future at Barcelona still remains uncertain and he has already been linked with a sensational return to Liverpool.
Moreover, Barcelona also have plans to thrash out a humongous £538m on renovating the Camp Nou, which is expected to finish in 2023.
Meanwhile, Griezmann has been speaking to his legal council in detail with regards to his much publicised and controversial move to Barcelona and his lawyer, Sevan Karian, has revealed that the situation has taken its toll on the 28-year-old.
He said: “Antoine is very disappointed with the attitude shown by Atletico and the club’s hierarchy. They are acting in bad faith and are communicating the opposite of what they told him in person.
“But let them do as they see fit, we will do the same if necessary. For the moment, for [Griezmann], he only wants to think about this new chapter in his career. He wants to celebrate this weekend by discovering his new home.”
With Los Rojiblancos pursuing legal action against Barcelona, the La Liga champions must now decide whether they are prepared to pay the additional €80m which Atletico are demanding.
