​As of this date in this year's summer transfer window, ​La Liga leads the way ahead of all major European leagues in terms of amount spent on transfers. To put things into perspective, back in the summer of 2017, La Liga's total spending outlay was 557 million euro. 

LaLiga has already seen 41 transfers incoming this summer till now with the current spend by Spanish club's reaching 520 million euro and is on track to comfortably surpass the total spend of €934,270,000, which was spent on players by La Liga clubs during the summer window of 2018.

At present, LaLiga leads the way in spendings this summer, ahead of Germany's ​Bundesliga (384 million), ​Serie A (292), ​Premier League (196), Ligue 1 (32) and Portugal's Liga NOS (28). 

​AS report that Real Madrid alone have invested more than the combined outlay of the English, French and Portuguese leagues. 

The highest priced players in the Spanish league are shared by Real Madrid and FC Barcelona with ​Eden Hazard costing Los Blancos a mammoth 100 million euros, Barcelona's De Jong from Ajax costing the Catalan side 75 million euro and Luka Jovic's move from Eintracht Frankfurt to Real Madrid, again, costing 60 million euro. 

The spending by La Liga clubs this season is definitely a sign to all other leagues with regards to  who actually is the most powerful league in Europe.
