Arsenal legend, Robert Pires has urged fellow countryman Paul Pogba to snub Real Madrid and remain at Old Trafford, claiming that the midfielder has "unfinished business" at Manchester United.

The 26-year-old has been repeatedly been linked with a move to the Bernabeu, with it being understood that the player himself is keen to make a move to Madrid as he wants to win trophies and play under French legend, Zinedine Zidane.

Pires though believes that Pogba should remain at United, considering that the midfielder is yet to consistently perform for the Old Trafford outfit.

"My view about Paul Pogba is that he’s a great player, but I also know that last season especially was very difficult for him. A lot of people just talk about the transfer because Manchester United spent a lot of money," he said as quoted by Goal.

“So maybe that was difficult for him to handle, particularly at the beginning. But for me, the most important thing is for him to continue at United. It is one of the best and biggest clubs in the world – and he has unfinished business."

The 26-year-old who moved to United form Juventus in 2016 has performed in spurts and bursts so far, making 135 appearances, scoring 31 goals and helping the club win the 2017 Europa League.
