FC Barcelona are reported to be working on a Plan B incase they miss out on signing Matthijs De Ligt at the last minute with offers from Manchester UnitedJuventus and a newly reported insane offer from PSG.

AS reveal that if Barcelona do manage to save the €75m that they intend on spending on the central defender, they would then plan on investing that amount on two areas within their squad which is at left-back and a striker.

Barcelona's strategy for full-backs being promoted from the academy sensationally backfired last season as the academy player options in place of Jordi Alba ended up being quite weak. Now, Eric Abidal is said to have been looking to fill that role in the team as soon as possible.

So, if De Ligt indeed does not end up coming at Barcelona, they will not look for a centre-back anymore and would directly dive into getting a full-back, mostly those who would be cheap or out of contract at their respective clubs and would be free, for example, Felipe Luis.

If they miss out on De Ligt, Barcelona would also look at quick solutions to replace Luis Suarez and might become more aggressive in their stance to sign Antoine Griezmann before the summer transfer window shuts.
