A latest statistical update on the last day of the Italian domestic football season has revealed that Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo wasted the most number of chances in the 2018-19 season of the Serie A.
According to Opta, Ronaldo missed 16 big chances for the Bianconeris in 31 league appearances for the club in the season. He was followed closely by Mauro Icardi (Inter Milan) and Ciro Immobile (Lazio), who missed 15 big chances each.
Apart from the above, overall this season, Ronaldo averaged 5.7 shots per game (as per WhoScored) and he scored a total of 21 league goals, as Juventus won their eighth successive Serie A title in a row.
While Ronaldo did miss some high profile chances to score more goals in this season, he did more than enough in terms of his personal contributions to Juventus once again claiming the Serie A title this season.
With his 21 league goals, Ronaldo is third in the list of top goalscorers in Serie A this season with Zapata going on to score 22 and Quagliarella netting 26 times in 35 games respectively.
Juventus faced Atalanta in a 1-1 draw as the Italian Serie A's 2018-19 drew to a close with Max Allegri and Barzagli bidding goodbye to the Turin based club.
