Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is closely monitoring the development of Olympique Lyon's promising striker Mathis Rayan Cherki, following which Real Madrid are also planning on making a bid for the 15-year-old.

However, Lyon supremo Jean Michel Aulas is determined to do everything in his power to ensure that none of his club's emerging talent leaves the Ligue 1 outfit.

Cherki turns 16 on August 17th and will then be eligible for a transfer under FIFA's ruling with media outlets claiming that the player's family have already agreed to move to Madrid.

The striker has done pretty well this season after becoming the youngest player ever to score in the UEFA Youth League, also scoring his side's solitary goal in their 4-1 defeat to Manchester City in September 2018.

After initially being linked with Premier League side Chelsea when he was just 12, Cherki has subsequently seen himself on the radars of clubs like MilanJuventusBayern Munich and Ajax.

Meanwhile, Aulas is furiously working behind the scenes to ensure that Cherki remains with Lyon. He said, "He's (Cherki is) a hugely talented boy and with a family who love Olympique Lyon and we are a club that can offer him his earliest professional debut."
