FC Barcelona are on the brink of winning the Spanish La Liga title in the coming weeks as they sit 11 points ahead of second placed Atletico Madrid in Spain's domestic league.

The Catalan giants have been so dominant this season that they have scored 81 goals in just 31 games up till now, which is 26 more than their arch-rivals Real Madrid.

However, the astonishing factor in those numbers is that 53 of Barcelona's goals have come from either Lionel Messi or Luis Suarez in the season up till now.

ESPN FC's stat counter state that this record means that Messi and Suarez have scored more between them than 18 of the 19 teams they have faced the current La Liga campaign.

Fourth-placed Sevilla have 51 goals, while Atletico Madrid and relegation-threatened Celta Vigo both have 45 goals.

Talking only about Messi, the Argentinean maestro has scored more goals this season than Real Valladolid, on 24 and Alaves, who've managed 32 so far this season.

Not only that, Messi, now has the same amount of goals in this campaign as Valencia, Athletic Bilbao and Girona have collectively scored till date from the beginning of the domestic season back in August last year. His incredible form at this age has also led to Barcelona reportedly offering him a lifetime contract worth £175 million.
