Here, we take a look at four midfielders whose futures at their current clubs is said to be doubtful, making them prime targets for other clubs to focus on and sign.

4. Ruben Neves (Wolverhampton Wanderers)

It was something of a surprise that Ruben Neves chose to move to then Championship side Wolves from Porto, with the youngster linked to a number of top clubs. The midfielder impressed immediately and was named in the EFL Team of the season.

He has stepped up to the plate in the Premier League too, impressing the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain with his performances in the top flight. It looks like they will have a battle on their hands to keep hold of the 21-year-old either in the winter or next season.

3. Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal)

Aaron Ramsey is yet to sign a new contract with Arsenal, with the player's future at the club a doubt, a situation which has seen him being linked with the likes of AC Milan and Barcelona.

Despite injury issues, the 27-year-old has blossomed into one of the best attacking midfielders in the league, capable of playing on the wings as well.

He was named as the Arsenal Player of the Season last year and would be a quality addition to any team if he decides to move away from the Emirates after a 11-year spell.

2. Adrien Rabiot (Paris Saint-Germain)

Another player who is yet to sign a new contract with his club, Adrien Rabiot, is highly rated in Europe and has emerged as a prime target for Spanish giants Barcelona, who see him as an important player to take the team into the future.

The 23-year-old's future is up in the air as of now and it will be interesting to see whether he does end up at the Nou Camp in the summer.

1. Paul Pogba (Manchester United)

The player making headlines off late is Paul Pogba, who is reportedly unhappy at Manchester United after falling out with manager Jose Mourinho and is keen to move to Barcelona.

His agent is trying to sell him to one of the Spanish giants but his inconsistent displays wearing a United shirt might just go against him.
