Indian Super League franchise Kerala Blasters are looking for a new addition to their star studded line up and according to Brazilian media, Nilmar da Silva is close to join David James' side as the striker was spotted at the Dubai airport on his way to India.

33-year-old predominant centre-forward, Nilmar began his professional career with Brazilian club Internacional and quickly established himself as a top striker.  Later, he moved to Europe, and has featured in for several top clubs like Olympique Lyonnais and Villareal in France and Spain respectively.

Kerala Blasters have released Mark Sifneos, and there are rumors that the club would also consider offloading star striker Dimitar Berbatov, who has been a flop for the club.

Nilmar made his debut for the Brazil national team in 2003 and his first international goal came against Haiti on 18 August 2004. On 21 May 2009, he was selected in Brazil's squad for 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup wherein he made one appearance as Brazil went on to win the competition.

The Brazilian also played in FIFA World Cup 2010. He made 24 appearances for the Brazilian team during 2003-2011, scoring nine goals in the process.

Nilmar's stint with Spanish side Villarreal was good one. The striker played three seasons at the club, in 85 matches he scored 26 and assisted 11 goals.

All in all, Kerala Blasters are set to get an amazing clinical striker who can also play on the wings. Additionally, he can add versatility to the Kerala team, something they desperately need as of now.
