Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has claimed that new signing Philippe Coutinho is more of an attacking player than club captain Andres Iniesta but he insisted that the duo can play together in the team.

Speaking ahead of tonight's tie against Deportivo Alaves, Valverde stated that Coutinho has more attacking tendencies than Iniesta and suggested that the 25-year-old could make his first start for the club.

He continued, "Iniesta's more of a midfielder. Coutinho is more offensive, he takes on shots from distance and he can play wide or through the middle... but he also has to conform to what we do."
