Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has asked for patience from fans even as it remains unclear where he will be playing next season, but has hinted that he would be moving away from La Liga.

Griezmann and Atletico had earlier in the season confirmed that he would no longer be playing for the club in the new season. However, the player has not yet confirmed where he would go next.

With Paris Saint-Germain being linked with a move for the France international, Griezmann has asked from patience even as he decides where he will play in the new campaign.

"There's a need for patience, as it's still soon," Griezmann said, according to Goal"I want my future to be decided more than anyone, but there's a need to wait. I don't know if I'll remain in Spain. Maybe in two weeks we'll know something. I just want to play football and have fun."

The Frenchman is in a bit of quandary as his hopes of joining Barcelona have not materialised, with the La Liga club not showing any further interest in signing Griezmann after the way he snubbed in last year's summer transfer window.

With Griezmann unlikely to move to Real Madrid either, who just signed Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard, his only other realistic option is PSG. Griezmann can be a long term replacement for the ageing Edinson Cavani and would certainly love to play alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. Whether any other club would be interested to sign him up remains to be seen.
