Departing Atletico Madrid star and Barcelona target, Antoine Griezmann is reportedly keen to remain in Spain but is more interested in moving to rivals Real Madrid than the Catalan giants according to reports in Spain.

The Frenchman who is widely considered as one of the best players in the world, currently has a release clause worth 200 million, but that would reduce to 120m from July 1st, which would be manageable for the top European clubs in today's transfer climate.

While he has been heavily linked with a move to the Nou Camp in the summer, Sportskeeda reports that the Madrid hierarchy and manager Zinedine Zidane who are keen admirers of the striker, believe that he would be good fit at the club and at 120m is not that expensive as compared to other players.

The 28-year-old reportedly believes that moving to Madrid would be better considering that Lionel Messi and co are still smarting from his rejection of them last summer, with some players not in favour of him plying his trade with them.

Additionally, Madrid are willing to match his wages, the same amount he gets at Atletico currently, which means that he would not have to take a pay cut, which would be the case if he moved to Barcelona.

While there has been no official word from the players camp on his next destination, the summer transfer window will be one to watch out for considering that a number of top European clubs are in dire need of a squad overhaul.
