Argentina and Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi is without doubt one of the greatest players in the history of the sport, if not the greatest player. The 31-year-old has a number of professional and individual honours to his name, leading the Catalan giants to unprecedented success while also being awarded five Ballon d'Or honours.

While there is no one like the 31-year-old, SPORT have conducted a study to see which player resembles the Argentinian the most in current football, with it taking into consideration twelve different components to make an overall comparison.

These are: participation in the play, goals scored per shots taken, expected goals per game, shots taken, touches in the opposition's box, expected assists per game, key passes, times the ball is lost, pressing, and completed shots.

According to Driblab, after taking the parameters into consideration it has been revealed that Belgium and Chelsea superstar, Eden Hazard out of more than 71,600, across 2,300 teams, is most similar to Messi.

Based on the above points, Hazard comes out on top, having a 92.7% similarity to Barcelona's main man, while Paris Saint-Germain's teenage sensation, Kylian Mbappe comes in second with a similarity of 91.3% with fellow countryman Sergio Aguero in third place with a rating of 91.1%.
