Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani has claimed that he wants to stay on with the French champions and respect his contract, but will wait for the board's decision on what his future holds for him.
Cavani has been an integral part of the PSG setup for six seasons now, and has scored nearly 200 goals in all competitions for the club. The Uruguayan has helped the club win multiple league titles and cups, missing out on the Ligue 1 crown in only one of the seasons he has been there.
However, with only one year left in his contract, Cavani is not sure what his future holds, especially considering no offer has been forthcoming from the club as of now.
Ag Cavani: "There's no news regarding Edi's future, the only truth and certainty is that he has a contract with PSG for another year. I haven't talked to anyone from Napoli for the last year, there's been no contact at all". pic.twitter.com/TxAIlyb7Ru— Everything Napoli (@NapoliAndNaples) May 19, 2019
"It's beautiful (the connection with the fans),” Cavani told Canal+, according to Goal. “These are things you can keep forever.
“It is necessary to respect my contract. I want to finish my contract here. We'll see after (the end of the season). I want to stay here, I like the club, the city and my life here.
