Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane, has revealed that he is happy with the mentality of his players and has promised to offer them a clean slate for the remaining 11 games of the campaign.

After being knocked out of the Copa del Rey and the Champions League in the span of a week, manager Santiago Solari was relieved of his responsibilities as head coach of Real Madrid. The Los Blancos have now reappointed Zinedine Zidane, who kicks off his second managerial spell on Saturday against struggling Celta Vigo.

Addressing the press before the tie, he said: "After three days working with the squad, they look good. We know what we have to do. There are 11 games to have a good end to the season and the players are happy. The sessions have been intense and the players have showed a good effort and that's really important," as quoted by Xinhuanet.

"What we are thinking about is finishing the season well. I am not going to look at who may leave and who may stay, because everyone has a contract here. We can think about that next season, but now we have to finish the season well."

"I see the players with the same desire as before, even though it has been a difficult campaign. People always ask more from Real Madrid and the players always want to win and so do I. I have come back with a lot of desire and ambition to start something good," he concluded.
