Genoa star and Chelsea target Krzysztof Piatek has opened up on the debate between who is the greater player between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi and there is one clear winner in his eyes.

The duo have dominated the footballing landscape for the past decade or so, winning five Ballon d'Or awards each, with Ronaldo in the mix once again to win his sixth and go ahead of his eternal rival in the award stakes.

Piatek, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea, has claimed that there is only one who deserves that honour.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world right now and in my view the greatest there has ever been,” Piatek said, as quoted by Express.

Argentinian ace Paulo Dybala too has spoken about the duo, hailing them for their longetivity.

"Messi and Ronaldo should be getting worse (for age reasons) but instead they are still doing extraordinary things. They are not normal. My objective is to be the best of the humans.”

While Messi seems out of the running for the Ballon d'Or this year, it looks like Ronaldo too might not win it, with many tipping Real Madrid and Croatia midfielder Luka Modric to end their dominance on the award for the best player in the world.
