Italian side AC Milan are planning to go all in to compete with FC Barcelona in order to sign PSV starlet Steven Bergwijn in the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old forward is one of the most exciting prospects in world football at the moment and the Rossoneri, especially, are said to have been tracking him for quite some time now.

Bergwijn ended his last season with eight goals and 11 assists that helped PSV win the Eredivisie. His impressive performances attracted interest from multiple clubs from across Europe.

However, according to a report in Calciomercato, at the moment AC Milan and Barcelona are the only two clubs in the race to sign the impressive attacking player.

The Dutchman is said to be a big fan of FC Barcelona legend Lionel Messi and also has a picture clicked with the Argentinian great almost five years ago.

In quite a contrast to the above, Voetball International report that Bergwijn will not be looking to leave PSV immediately as he recently signed a new contract which is due to expire in 2022.
