Cristiano Ronaldo will get to know next Thursday whether he will be banned from playing against his former club Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Champions League.
The Portuguese hitman was involved in a tangle with Valencia's Jeison Murillo, appearing to pull the defender's hair in the first half of Juventus' 2-0 win on Wednesday. The referee was informed of the incident and he decided to flash a direct red at Ronaldo.
The incident caused major outrage among Juventus fans and the club's hierarchy including club legend Pavel Nedved.
As a direct result of the red card, Ronaldo will receive an automatic one game ban which cannot be appealed by Juventus. However, UEFA's disciplinary committee can choose to look at the incident and extend it depending on the contents of the referee's post-game report sent to them.
