Arsenal great Nigel Winterburn is of the opinion that Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United will be extremely interested in signing Aaron Ramsey if the Welsh midfielder fails to sign a new contract with the Gunners.
Ramsey, 27, will be a free agent at the end of this season with talks of a new deal having not progressed in the past year. The Welshman's agents, however, have publicly refuted claims that the player is stalling the deal as he is demanding more wages.
In a full-length interview about Ramsey's future, the 54-year-old Englishman told Sportingbet, "I think Manchester United and Chelsea will both battle it out to sign him if they feel he is seriously considering leaving Arsenal. I don't think he could get into the Manchester City and Liverpool teams, but it would hurt Arsenal fans to see another of their superstars leave to a Premier League rival."

Winterburn, who won six major titles with Arsenal believes that Ramsey is actually waiting to see what kind of impact Unai Emery has on the club at the end of this season.
He stated, "I think Ramsey isn’t committing to a new Arsenal contract because he wants to see where they finish this season. With a new manager coming in, there's a lot of uncertainty around the club and I would probably do the same."
Giving reasons as to why money would matter, Winterburn concluded, "Ramsey will be looking at what the players around him are being paid and he will want to be on a level playing field with the top performers at the club. He is perfectly entitled to ask for a wage he feels reflects his ability. If he is playing well regularly then he deserves to demand a salary on par with Ozil.”
Ramsey has always been an important player for Arsenal. The Welsh midfielder manages to create an impact almost every time he features for the Gunners. However, it remains to be seen how the future pans out for the 27-year-old star.
