Manchester United are adamant that they will not sell winger Anthony Martial in the summer despite reports emerging that the Frenchman wants a move away from Old Trafford. It is understood that Martial wants to leave the club as the arrival of Alexis Sanchez has put him down the pecking order.

According to ESPN, United are not keen on selling the 22-year-old who they believe will be a key player for them in the future. Martial currently has one year left on his contract, with the club having an option to extend his deal by 12 months, which would mean that he will remain at Old Trafford till 2020.

The winger though wants a move a move amid interest from top clubs such as Juventus, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, although no official bid has been made from any of the clubs. His agent, Philippe Lamboley, had revealed earlier in June that the star had already made up his mind with regards to his future.

"After thinking about all the factors and possibilities, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United. Everyone will have their opinion but I think he needs to resume his career. The time has come."

Since moving to United in 2015, Martial has made 136 appearances in all competitions, scoring 36 goals, helping the club win one FA Cup and the 2016 Europa League.
