La Liga giants Barcelona have reportedly made their third bid for Chelsea winger Willian, with the amount offered said to be in excess of £55 million.

As reported by Sky Sports News, the Catalan side upped their offer for the Brazilian, with their previous bid said to be in the region of £53 million. They are said to be engaged in talks with the player's representatives and his club.

The 29-year-old has been one of the Blaugrana's principal targets throughout the current transfer window. Manchester United were also said to be in the race to sign him, especially back in May, when the player was not a regular under previous manager Antonio Conte.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk man was voted the Chelsea players' player of the season and is also a fan favourite. With his pace, ability to offer width and quality from set-pieces, he offers a lot of versatility and would definitely complement the existing attacking options at the Nou Camp.

One of the better players for Brazil at the recently concluded World Cup, he was the Blues' best player during their Champions League round of 16 clash against Barcelona last season, scoring in their 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Willian has been a solid contributor at Chelsea, having scored 44 goals in 236 appearances for the club since joining them in the summer of 2013 from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013.
