Real Madrid skipper, Sergio Ramos, has reportedly given the go-ahead to make a move for Chelsea's versatile defender, Marcos Alonso.

According to a report by Don Balon, Los Blancos' new boss, Julen Lopetegui, is already bracing himself for a big money offer for Raphael Varane from Manchester United and has identified Marcos Alonso as his replacement.

The report also suggests that Ramos has given the club the ‘Ok’ to move for Alonso and is looking forward to pairing up with his countryman. Lopetegui, on the other hand, has been left impressed by Alonso's ability to occupy multiple positions, which is always a nice incentive to have.

The player has a knack for delivering from free-kicks and is capable of tailoring his game as per requirements. The player was part of Real Madrid's youth system and has spent 11 years at the club. After making just a solitary appearance for the senior side back in 2010, he was sold to Bolton Wanderers.

However, the wing-back started attracting the attention of the big clubs after having a successful stint at Fiorentina, which earned him a move to Stamford Bridge in 2016.

He has polished his game since and is now one of the finest players in his position. He has also scored 14 goals in his 81 appearances for Antonio Conte’s side.
