Juventus boss Max Allegri, is excited regarding Cristiano Ronaldo's move to the club, insisting that the Portuguese superstar's arrival marks a step up for the Serie A giants.

The Serie A winners have been longing for a Champions League title since the turn of the century. Now, adding a specialist like Ronaldo is bound to boost their chances.

When asked about the signing, Allegri said: "I think it’s a very important signing, which marks a step up for everyone at the club," he said of the former Real Madrid superstar at an event in Brussells, as quoted by Football-Italia

"When we start again on July 30 and have everyone back, we’ll have an important year ahead of us, like all the others, with objectives that need to be achieved. I absolutely didn’t hear from [Ronaldo] on the phone. I think there will be a Press conference on Monday, so I’ll see him then."

"I know he’s very happy, he’s a great professional and an important addition to a team who have already done great things. I believe the club and President have done something extraordinary for Juventus but above all for Italian football. How will he play? Like he always did: trying to score goals."

The deal was finalised for a reported fee of £105m. The Real Madrid record-goalscorer has signed a four-year deal and will earn around €30m per season.
