Kolkata giants East Bengal have agreed the terms to complete the signing of Costa Rican defender Johnny Acosta Zamora. The 34-year-old will be part of the Red and Golds for the upcoming season.
Acosta played all three games in the group stages of the FIFA World Cup in Russia . He has a total of 69 caps for his nation and has scored two goals. East Bengal will hope to use his experience as they prepare for some exciting times ahead after a recent flow of funds into the club.
As reported by Goal, after penning his contract with the East-Indian stalwarts, Acosta said, "EastBengal FC is one of the greatest clubs in India. I convey my best to my new club. My aim is to encourage the other Indian footballers and guide them and at the same time win silverware for Quess EastBengal FC,"
Acosta playing in South America for most of his club career, Acosta will hope to create an impact in his first season with East Bengal.
